Even though not perfect conditions on the V718 I was sure I could PB today and (phew) thankfully I did !!!
My power was way off from the start but I tried not to let that distract me, I just stayed as aero as I could… it was super fast on the way out and a slog on the way back… then at 8.5 miles disaster struck…
I hit a pothole so hard it almost threw me off. I lost the front end completely before chest planting the bars! Not exactly sure how I stayed upright tbh but I did. It took me a little while to get back on it and I’m sure it cost me 5-10 secs but at least I finished with everything intact and a 45 sec PB! 🎉
Best part.. I ran off the bike and it’s the best I’ve felt for a long time!! (obvs. didn’t go hard enough on the bike…. hahaha)
Well done to Lewis for taking the win!
Massive thanks to Chris & Giant Leamington. Also to Dave at Giant HQ for sorting hydration unit 🙂 Really happy riding this bike and I’m sure there’s more to come .
Next stop the National 25 mile TT Championships, followed by a very expensive trip (thanks Alex xx) to Canada for the World Duathlon Championships! 🇬🇧 🏃♀️🚴🏻♀️🏃♀️
